Three new Manchester hires bolster the northern Evoke Mind+Matter consumer health team

Evoke Mind+Matter is delighted to announce that it has retained its partnership with the Superdrug Beauty and Corporate PR team for further two years. As part of a planned bi-annual competitive agency roster review, the continued partnership comes off the back of a very successful period where the organisation achieved its best ever PR results, after the contract was first awarded in January 2020.

Evoke Mind+Matter’s specialist consumer health and corporate communications team will continue to work with Superdrug to help develop deeper relationships with its customers, launch industry-leading campaigns and proactively build corporate reputation. Successful work in 2022 included a ‘Shop Smart’ campaign with poverty campaigner, Jack Monroe, to help customers tackle the Cost of Living crisis and a continuation of ‘Shades of You’ campaign which saw the retailer research and react to the unmet beauty needs of black and mixed heritage consumers, working in collaboration with Milk Honey Bees.

Holly Ford, recently promoted to Head of Consumer Communications at the agency in October 2022, will continue to head up the Superdrug business. Holly will be supported by Carly Jones, Senior Account Director, who will lead the day to day account strategy and programme, which is already well underway to ensure a strong 2023.

In addition, three important hires have further bolstered the Evoke Mind+Matter communications team. Jess MacDonald joins the team as Account Director, with previous experience working with Therme Group, HCA Healthcare, The Fragrance Shop and Treatwell; alongside Account Manager, Sophie Charlesworth and Senior Account Executive, Pip Reilly. All three will be based out of the company’s Manchester office, as the agency continues to expand its UK presence.

Holly comments: “We are absolutely thrilled to be continuing our partnership with Superdrug across both Beauty and Corporate PR. Our agency us about making it matter, and with its customer-obsessed campaigning spirit, Superdrug is wholeheartedly aligned to our purpose.”

On the new hires Holly adds: “A blend of consumer and corporate experience is crucial in running a fast-paced retail account and so we’re thrilled to be expanding our team and bolstering our expertise in what we call a ‘corpsumer’ set up. When these two disciplines go hand in hand, is when our work for Superdrug is at its most impactful.”

Head of Customer & Communications at Superdrug, Helen Flaxman, added: “We’ve worked with Evoke Mind+Matter for three years now and we have built a very strong relationship, with the account team working as an extension to Superdrug client team. The team have a proven track record in delivering integrated strategic support, purpose driven creative campaigns and impactful results that have extended our share of voice and met the demands of the business. We’re really pleased to continue working together and look forward to what’s to come in 2023 and beyond.”

Throughout 2023 Evoke Mind+Matter will continue to invest in communications – drawing on the agency’s bespoke Insight, Experience and Creative teams to accelerate its integrated PR offering and deliver on its aim of delivering digital-first, data-driven communications that make a difference.
